Are you considering an Avalon wedding or looking for an Avalon pastor to officiate an off-site ceremony? Follow the steps below to get started!
STEP ONE: Decide if an Avalon wedding is right for you
If you are choosing to be married at Avalon Church or by an Avalon officiant, you are choosing a Christ-centered wedding. Avalon Church will marry regular attenders (those who have consistently attended 2+ services every month for the past 6 months) who have both committed their lives to following Christ.
Requirements
- Must be a regular attender at Avalon Church (meaning you have consistently attended 2+ services every month for the past 6 months)
- Submit your request at least 6 months before the wedding date
- Read through and agree to our wedding policy
- Read through and agree to our marriage covenant agreement
- Must go through Avalon Church's pre-marital counseling process
STEP TWO: Wedding Policy and Marriage Covenant Agreement
As per our church’s and denomination’s beliefs: “We believe in the historically Christian view of marriage and sexual expression; namely, that marriage is a one-flesh covenant union between two sexually different persons (male and female) from different families, and that all sexual relationships outside of marriage are sin.” Ephesians 5:31, Mark 10:6-9
With your fiancé, please read through the Marriage Covenant Agreement. If you have any questions or would like to speak to a pastor before proceeding, please email us at awilson@avalonmc.com and we will arrange a meeting.
After you have read through the Marriage Covenant, please read through our Wedding Policy.
